At last, I can tell the world! I wrote a cookbook. It will be out this autumn and I am beyond excited. Want to know more? Read on …
So yes, big news! Unexpected? Or did the long absences during the past year make you suspicious? Anyone who follows me on social media has read a post or two of mine where I complain about being busy. But the blog posts have been so few and far between, that you must have wondered what was keeping me so busy! Well, it was this. I wrote a cookbook. Sorry, I have to keep repeating it to believe I’m actually saying it.
My publisher is Page Street Publishing – an expert in the cookbook field – and the book will be sold in US bookstores and of course online. So you can get your hands on it regardless of which corner of the world you live in!
Want to know what it’s about? Take a guess … Greek recipes, or slow cooker recipes? Well both actually. Classic Greek dishes, adapted for my favourite kitchen gadget. To my knowledge, it’s the first of its kind. There are a few Mediterranean slow cooker cookbooks out there, but none specifically Greek. This one is filled with real recipes, for real food, eaten by Greeks all over Greece every day. You may have tried some of these dishes while on holiday, you may have tried others in the home of your Greek friends. Maybe you haven’t tried any. Now you can. Succulent, flavourful meat dishes, easy, fuss-free poultry and lots of vegetarian options too. Something sweet? I’ve got you covered. Recreate the delicious flavours of our unique cuisine easily in your own kitchen, using your own slow cooker. It’s never been simpler!
In case you’re curious about the photo, this is Pastitsada, a deliciously aromatic beef dish from the island of Corfu. And yes, the recipe is in the book. Is it making your mouth water? I hope so. Did I mention I did the photography for all the recipes? I cannot wait to show you more!
I hope you are as excited as I am about this book. Autumn may seem a long way away, but it will be upon us in a flash. And the book will be available to pre-order online before the release date, giving you all the opportunity to snag one of the first copies to come off the printer! I will, of course, keep you updated so you know when to look out for it.
In the meantime, if you live in Greece, you might be interested in my little celebratory giveaway. To enter pop over to the Greek side of this post and follow the instructions!
So there it is. The big project I’ve been working on. My big news. I’m so glad I finally got to share it with you!
